Tour Description: This Lodge Expedition takes us through Southern and Central African Bush and unique Beach Resort destinations. Travelling through 4 countries we explore Big Five area and Indian Ocean Palm Fringed beaches. African Wildlife, Tropical Marine life, Diverse Culture, Bush, Beach and Lake Landscapes and Rich History are only some of the highlights to be experienced. A very flexible attitude and an open mind can only contribute to the experience of a life time never to be repeated. |

Itinerary: Day 1 - Johannesburg – Upon arrival we transfer to our lodge and time permitting take part in an optional Soweto Tour. Dinner thereafter is enjoyed at the lodge. DB (Hotel) Day 2-3 - Kruger National Park – A long drive takes us to this famous Wildlife area where we have the opportunity to see the big five as well as Giraffe, Zebra, Impala and Wildebeest whilst on game walks and a night drive. DB&B (Camping) Day 4 - Maputo (Mozambique) - We leave the park today and head to the boarder of Mozambique. Thereafter we head to the vibrant capital city; Maputo. The afternoon is spent exploring the Latin atmosphere. DB&B (Hotel) Day 5-7 - Inhambane Tofo - We make our way up the lagoon dotted coast line of the Indian Ocean to a paradise of palm fringed beaches. Our time is spent enjoying various optional activities like Diving, Snorkelling, Quad Biking, Beach Horse Riding and relaxing by the warm Indian Ocean Waters DB&B.(Guesthouse) Day 8 - Vilankulo – We head back into Inhambane. After visiting the market and taking a walk through the town, a dhow trip on a traditional Arab sailing boat, takes us over to Maxixe. A drive through the Baobab and coastal dune forests takes us to Vilankulo. Tonight we prepare for our trip over to the Islands. DB&B (Lodge) Day 9&10- Benguerra island – Our first day is spent sailing (wind permitting) over to Benguerra Archipelago; a world heritage site, for a 2 night stay on the same name Island. Diving, Island Walks, Snorkelling and Sand Boarding on Bazaruto Island are some of the optional activities we can enjoy in our time on and around the island. DB&B (Camping) Day 11 - Vilankulo – Today we sail back to the mainland and spend the night at our same lodge. DB&B (Camping) Day 12 - Lake Chicamba – A lengthy drive today takes us to one of the only 3 dams in the country. Lake Chicamba is nearly on the boarder of Zimbabwe and our accommodation for the night offers a crocodile farm and sunsets over the lake. DB&B (Lodge) Day 13 - Tete – Another lengthy day takes us though to the capital of the province with the like name. This town lies on the Zambezi River and is famous for the hang bridge that was built to aid the transport of parts for the Caborra Bassa Dam’s hydroelectric power station. DB&B (Camping) Day 14-16 - South Luangwa (Zambia) – Today we head to the border and enter another great African country of Zambia. After a quick visit to Chipata we head on a challenging stretch of road into Africa’s Greatest National Park. In out time here we hope to see the rare Thornicroft Giraffe, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Puku and Hyenas Day 17-20 - Monkey Bay (Malawi) – Today we head to the most beautiful Lake in Africa. Lake Malawi covers 1/3 of Malawi’s Land Mass. We spend our first night on the Lake shore before canoeing off to one of the Islands inside Lake Malawi National Park; a world heritage site. We spend 2 nights on Domwe Island. Activities included walking around the Island, Bird Watching, Canoeing, Relaxing and Diving. We then canoe over to Mumbo Island where we spend our last night on the lake taking part in the similar activities before heading back to the mainland for our drive back to the Capital. FB (Tented Camp) Day 21 - Lilongwe – Our last night is spent in the Capital city before our flight back home. DB&B (Guesthouse) DB&B = Dinner, Bed and Breakfast FB = Full Board |
